 Viridan Sytrinol 150mg Capsules

Information: Sytrinol is a patented proprietary formula derived from natural citrus and palm fruit extracts. It combines polymethoxylated flavones (PMFs), delta, gamma, alpha tocotrienols and other proprietary constituents. This combination results in a synergistic effect, significantly promoting healthy total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol and triglyceride levels. Additionally, Sytrinol is a powerful antioxidant with numerous heart health benefits that help control anti-inflammatory responses and cellular health.

What are Polymethoxylated Flavones? Polymethoxylated flavones are a subclass of citrus bioflavonoids distinguished by an extra methyl group. This occurs naturally and as a result, nature has produced an extremely bio-active and potent molecule.  This is especially true for tangeretin and nobiletin, two of the primary polymethoxylated flavonoids in Sytrinol. There is over 25 years of documented research evidence that these particular bioflavonoids deliver heart health benefits.

What are tocotrienols? Palm tocotrienols, along with tocopherols, are members of the vitamin E family and are extracted from the fruit of the palm tree.  Like vitamin E, palm tocotrienols control anti-inflammatory responses and degrade HMG-CoA reductase, a key enzyme in our bodies used by the liver to produce cholesterol.  New data on the biological activity of tocotrienols in the prevention of neuro- degenerative and cardiovascular disorders along with its antioxidant and chemotherapeutic properties have raised tocotrienols to a new level of prominence in the scientific community.

·         CHOLESTEROL REDUCTION Polymethoxylated flavones (PMFs) decrease apoprotein b, a structural protein needed for endogenous synthesis of LDL cholesterol.  Tocotrienols inhibit HMG CoA reductase, a liver enzyme responsible for endogenous synthesis of cholesterol.  In multiple clinical trials, Sytrinol supplementation over 4 weeks resulted in the following - improved total cholesterol up to 3o%; improved LDL cholesterol up to 27% ;improved total triglyceride up to 34%; improved HDL cholesterol up to 4%; improved LDL:HDL ratio up to 3o%.

Sytrinol is currently being tested in a long-term, double-blind, crossover randomized study involving 120 men and women with moderately elevated cholesterol levels (total cholesterol >230 mg/dL, LDL > 155 mg/dL). Subjects will receive either 300 mg/day of Sytrinol or a placebo for 12 weeks, followed by a washout period (4 weeks), followed by another 12 weeks where the groups receiving the active compound or placebo will be crossed over.

Only the first 12 weeks (Phase 1) of the long-term study have been completed, yet already the results are proving to be compelling. Compared to placebo, total cholesterol was reduced 30%, LDL cholesterol was reduced 27% and total triglycerides dropped 33%. Additionally, HDL cholesterol levels increased by 4%, resulting in a significant reduction in the LDL/HDL ratio of 30%.

·         TRIGLYCERIDE LOWERING - PMFs (tangeretin and nobiletin) decrease diacylglycerolacetyl transferase, a liver enzyme needed for endogenous synthesis of triglycerides.

·         ANTIOXIDANT – Sytrinol is a powerful antioxidant with numerous heart health benefits including the reduction of arterial plaque, improved glycaemic control and reduced blood platelet aggregation.  A recent study that was published in the Journal of Atherosclerosis, revealed that tocotrienols were more effective than Vitamin E in reducing the expression of adhesion molecules which leads to plaque formation.  The study revealed that tocotrienols accumulate at levels which are 25-95 times greater that alpha tocopherol in human aortic endothelial cells.

·         ANTI-INFLAMMATORY – Recent research has established that inflammation may cause C-reactive protein (CRP) to be produced in the body. Specific PMFs, including nobiletin and tangeretin, have been studied for their anti-inflammatory properties, suggesting that the PMFs found in Sytrinol would have a positive effect on regulating CRP levels.

·         CELL PROTECTIVE - polymethoxylated flavones (PMFs) have been shown to possess especially potent anti-cancer and immuno-supportive benefits.  Early studies revealed that nobiletin significantly inhibits production of nitric oxide (NO) and superoxide (O2-), two powerful free radicals involved in promoting inflammation and cancer.  Tangeretin has been found to exert antioxidant and neuro-protective benefits and actually cross the blood-brain barrier and protect brain cells (hypothalamus, striatum and hippocampus).

·         GLYCAEMIC CONTROL - As well as proving to be a novel cholesterol and triglyceride lowering supplement, Sytrinol also improves glycaemic control in individuals with metabolic syndrome as presented at the Canadian Federation of Biological Societies 48th Annual Meeting in Guelph, Ontario.  Administration of Sytrinol s compared to placebo was associated with more pronounced tendency to improved insulin responses (including 17% reduction of postprandial insulin peak, 11% reduction in insulin area curve under the curve and 53% delay in the time of insulin peak appearance) and with the less pronounced positive effect on glucose profile (43% delay in glucose peak appearance without changes in postprandial glucose concentrations).  The observed beneficial effects were significantly correlated with the subject’s body mass index (BMI).

Recommended Intake: 150mg capsule – take one capsule twice daily.  Can be taken before, during, or after meals. May be used long term within normal dosage range.
